Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Course (HLTAID009)

Person practicing CPR on a medical training mannequin with defibrillator nearby.

$60

Cardiac arrest is a medical emergency that can lead to death. With urgent medical care to restart the heart, survival is possible. Quick decision-making is essential to recognize and assess a cardiac emergency, call for medical assistance, and perform CPR procedures, which significantly increase the chance of survival for a person who is unconscious and not breathing normally. In this CPR training course, you will learn these vital skills in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines. The course will cover the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), how to rotate first aiders with minimal interruptions to compressions, and what to do if the casualty regurgitates or vomits. Additionally, this first aid course includes training on how to convey accurate incident details when handing the casualty over to emergency services, reviewing an incident, recognizing any psychological impacts on yourself and other rescuers, seeking help if required, and improving your personal skills and response times. This course aligns with the HLTAID009 unit, ensuring comprehensive training for effective emergency response.
